I wouldn't bother going to the ceiling. I think that will be too much tile for the space.

I'm torn on which tile I prefer. The subway tile seems too large in scale (hard to tell with the photo so close up) and the herringbone seems a touch small, but the color/tone for both are great.

Agree- the subway tile is way too big, not exactly what we're going with, but just for idea/concept. We ordered samples and obviously not the right size. Thank you!

Ah, I see. That makes sense. Either way, the proportion of the subway tile is fantastic, so good eye! I love longer, thinner tiles.

I like the white /gray herringbone but can you get it in a larger scale? I don't like too much grout to keep clean

I wouldn’t recommend actual marble backsplash tile against your faux marble quartz. It makes the counters look fake by comparison. Consider a light gray glazed ceramic tile that compliments your veining and coordinates with your wall color, or a white that matches your cabinet paint. If you want herringbone, consider using a larger tile installed in that pattern. There’s less grout this way, and it makes a stronger visual statement, although there are plenty of smaller glazed ceramic herringbone mosaics to choose from if you prefer that look.

@eam44 none of my backsplash options are real marble. Thank you for the grey suggestion, I'll look into that!

Where did you find the herringbone one? Do they offer other patterns? I really like how it has different shades but isn't real marble.

Also I voted to just take backsplash to bottom of cabinets.

I believe you can get the herringbone one in a subway. I think it comes on a sheet and they are 2 by 6

Also, for the cabinet area to the left of your refrigerator, I wouldn't tile the side wall but only do the back wall.
