Yep. That’s my thought too. Nightmare weed if it gets in the garden.

I know. Got into it before I realized and it took 15 minutes to pick off all those little burrs. Growing in an area near the house foundation.

It’s not so much the burrs I’m referring to. It’s the roots. They spread far and wide, every little piece will regrow and they break off when pulled.

Suddenly, I have a lot of invasive plants. Last year I had a Japanese ivy and wisteria take over the south side of the house (attached photo). I went out last fall and cut them off at ground level. Over the winter it died and then I pulled down the dead branches. Even then it was a big job for an old lady, and even now it looks like they are coming back. I constantly have to go out and cut the new shoots off. I tried pulling them up, but they are really entrenched - and talk about underground runners!!! On the north side it's Virginia creeper all over.
