Wow, Jackie, has your machine cooled down yet? The first pattern would be a great way to use leftover/orphan/crumb same sized blocks for the center. Bring your strings to retreat and I'll sew a few blocks for you. What size are they, 6.5"? Did you hang the TP wall hanging at work? Are they still laughing?

Donna, yes I loaded the one long backing on the frame and added tops as I went along. I float them so it is no trouble to add one on. My batting is on a bar on the bottom of the frame so it just rolls along like the backing does. Even if I do not have a roll of batting loaded, I will just tack a bat on as I need it. It all works if you are OK with several quilts having the same backing. This time it was a gray with leaves. Goes good with everything. I buy backing by the bolt from Marshall Dry Goods.

This was really no big deal. I would quilt a run across the quilt every now and then. I think the most crosses I made was like 4 in one day. I get really bored quilting so I will make a run across and then sew some blocks or something and then make another run. My favorite part of quilting is the piecing of the blocks.

I have a few more tops that I found in an estate sale to quilt and a couple of small lap quilts of my own to do. I would like to get those all quilted before retreat. Probably will not happen, but a girl can dream. LOL

Sharon, I plan to bring strings and foundation papers to retreat. It is something that you can do when you just want mindless sewing. I have enough strings to probably make another dozen queen sized quilts. LOL I need to bind the TP quilt and take it to work. Maybe this week.

My retreat projects are as follows: I have a T-Shirt quilt that I want to get together for a friend, I have a Tumalo Trail Quilt all cut out and mostly pieced, a Jamestown Landing ready to just sew the blocks together, a box of 4 patches and lots of string blocks of different sizes that I want to put together into something (we are talking a few hundred LOL), and I am bringing strings to fill up spare time. :) The T-Shirt quilt is top priority as it is for a friend. The rest are just projects I have been working on off and on.
