I think your Patriot is Minuteman, and vice versa.

Here’s where I am confused——-thought Patriot was the darker of the two and according to HL database it also is fertile, limited but wouldn’t that require pods after the leaf bloom? I am so confused 😬

I don’t know, but I always thought MM was darker. MM always catches my eye in the shops (back when I used to shop in-person). Sadly, the edges fry horribly for me. MM is one of my ugliest and least (never) photographed plants. You know it is bad when I am seriously considering taking it out of its protective basket in order to put it straight in the ground. I have found the it it far easier to feed a hosta to the voles that to use Roundup. Call it an offering to the vermin powers that be. Of course, if my MM looked like either of your plants, you would have seen pics already.

There is recent article in AHS letter. Something about Patriot being a chimera plant as has different ploidity double and tet together in one plant and Minuteman is a tet.

Debra, you and me both. I think what that means is Patriot and Minuteman are fraternal twins and white and green parts on both should have different texture, more solid on Minuteman and softer on Patriot, specific to white. Green is tet for both. Minuteman should be thicker and slower grower.
