is suppose to sit over night with enough paste that it doesnt dry out. you better off just sanding with a palm sander

It did sit overnight for appx 16 hours. Maybe the heat dried it out too quickly? I don't understand the rave reviews this stuff got it it usually works like this. I had two layers of peeling paint to remove, and this is supposed to do 30. I'm concerned about lead and that's why I'm not sanding or ng a heat gun.

how old is the house you can do a quick lead test they are sold at paint stores. we usually use commercial strippers but all most have been band. peel away is suppose to be a good alternative.

There are lots of good furniture strippers out there. Try another. One that recommends like a 20 minute wait for the stuff to work. But also remember how well a stripper works depends on the kind of paint being stripped. If it's old latex or worse yet milk paint it can be very hard to strip.

The house was built in 1890, and this is a built in shelf that's peeling. I am just assuming that one or more of the layers is bound to have lead paint. I did get most of it off, but it was a big mess and a lot of scraping, which I was hoping to avoid. This stuff doesn't avoid scraping and dust as advertised, but at ast we didn't have toxic fumes.

Peel away is terrible. They should be banned due to false advertising. My home was built in 1905 and was painted in the 80’s. I want to bring the brick back but it’s proving to be very difficult for a diy project. I’m a very well versed builder but this is the one thing that I haven’t figured out yet. I will persevere and update when I figure out the best option. 🤙🙂
