Where will you spend more time--bedroom or pantry?

Definitely in the kitchen and great room

We had a 16x12 master in our last home - king size bed, side tables, chair, tall cabinet, large dog bed. You'll have plenty of space in the master if you enlarge the pantry.

Looks like you've got space under the stairs to extend the pantry. Could double the size based on the graphic. (I realize this isn't addressing the angled door, just thought it was worth pointing out.)

I have a 15 x 12 master and have 1 king bed 2 side tables, 2 dressers a small table and 2 chairs, and still largely enough space to go around.

@rsc2a Is that space usable? This is a rambler so those are stairs to the basement

I'd go for larger pantry. I prefer a smaller master bedroom.

I would definitely want the bigger pantry.

What kind of pantry? I’m thinking that you could take the Entire long wall above the kitchen and make it a long reach-in pantry. And take only a foot or two from the width of the bedroom.

Thinking of taking 4" from the master to make a new larger pantry.

Guessing you intended 4' (4 feet), not 4 inches.

What would the new plan look like?

Pantry. A smaller bedroom wouldn't be a big deal for me as long as my bed fits with room for nightstands.

Enlarge the pantry. You will use it multiple times a day and never miss the BR space.

The new pantry would look like this with faux cabinet walkthrough, existing pantry would be cabinet/countertops.

That will affect the symmetry in the master bedroom - window will be off-center.

IMO you could redo the design of the kitchen and have pullout pantries in that foorprint and not touch the master I think walk in pantries are a huge waste of space forget those angled walls in the den and kitchen too.

We can recenter the window and adjust the master to fit the addition.

How will re-centering the window affect the exterior? I'm with Patricia - far easier to redesign the kitchen.

Earlier question: You could potentially use some of the space over the stairs in the pantry design. Depends on how it's designed / framed up.

Unless your pantry is a reach-in, the latest sketch you have shown not really a functional design. 48" - 4.5" (extra wall) - 15" (shelving) = 28.5" width aisle....a very long aisle that you actually need to move around in, carry things, and step back and look over the shelving.

And I know it's not part of your question, but have you considered putting a door between the master and dining room? Looks like it would improve the flow a good deal.

IMO there is no need for flow from the DR to the master so no to that plan.
