Dave You certainly have the best root stock for good fruit and increased cold tolerance, Needed for those of us that accidentaly leave a tree outside.

Steve, when I planted the different seeds, left it out during that winter, sort of neglected the seedlings, most survived, did grafting that spring, now have a bunch of producing tree’s. Since that time 2016 having got one dead tree yet.Luck or what! Killed one

kumquat tree, because it got too big and wouldn’t take any graft.

Dave, glad to meet and share some FD stock with another gardener/citrus lover. You have an amazing collection. Next time I visit Stan McKenzie I'll have to ask what graft technique he is using when he's been using yearlings. When I had picked up the tiny finger lime from him, it was on a baby rootstock and he said he had started using a new graft technique successfully with them.

Ken, I would guess a very small chip graft would work on these seedlings right now. But I think my success would improve with a bit thicker diameter trunks. But I may try one for the heck of it!

EDIT: I did one chip bud graft on one Flying Dragon. It's like doing brain surgery. I have small fingers, but it really takes a lot of coordination to work with a root stock so small.
