It is time to paint the walls (and the ceiling). In order to solidify the paint color, I want to get a better feel for where this room is going.

The tan sectional will return to it’s old home in the basement. We are a family of 5 and need a lot of seating. It is currently disbursed through the house due to the basement disaster. Here are a couple sections of the sectional. It could go in the main living area upstairs if a better option is found for the basement. However, the main living area has a nearly identical footprint.

I like the medallion pillows, but I’m not sure if they are worth matching to as I don’t know how much life they have left. They are starting to look peely (sp?).

I keep coming back to white walls as I like these rooms that have tan couches.

So then I guess the big question is a rug. The basement currently gray carpet, but we would like to rip it out and clean up the concrete floors in order to keep them bare (let’s come back to this later). I originally bought this rug for this room, but could go elsewhere. It is an 8x10. It doesn’t go with the current pillows at all.

I’m not sure 8x10 is big enough, but due to the bowling alley likeness of the room I’m not sure we can go any bigger. Here is my beautiful drawing of the room and some pics of the room.

TV console will stay. The TV console is already sitting in its spot. You can see it peeking out from behind the covered couch in the first basement picture.

I don’t want to go with dark wall colors (even though my husband disagrees) because the room only has 2 small basement windows. They face the east though. In the early part of the day, they do let in a lot of light. The adjoining bedroom has 3 large windows, which helps with the room also, if my son leaves his door open. These pics were taken with only natural light this morning as lights need to be installed also. Let’s discuss lights later also, but it may be too late to make changes in that area by this point.
