Wow to Cat Dancer! That is an outstanding photo for sure. I already like it and want it, but a photo like that makes it more desirable.

Jolyene is my second favorite. Very beautiful.

Looking through my pictures, I find that many are taken solely for the idea of having the daylily picture. Not artistic. I need to change my goals. Second problem, good photo of the daylily, horrible background. Sometimes unavoidable, sometimes it is. Third, hard to decide on a good picture vs. a favorite flower. I think I found some that fit the bill.

Brave World is one of my favorite photos.

Spider Miracle this is second.

Chance Encounter is my third choice. The flower looks great, not thrilled about the background.

I know what you mean, Brad. I take photos for a record of what it looks like and I rarely worry over spent blooms, name tags, hybridizing tags, and trash cans in the background. I take so many photos during the season and we are so busy right now (clearing the select seedlings from the seedling bed and lining out new intros and ones to sell) that I don't have much time to look through them all. So I looked through the seedling pictures and found my favorite photos.

I agree that picking only three is very hard. I had about 25 that I thought were equally good. So I picked the ones that had something unusual going on.

Awaken the Dawn - I loved how this one came out with the flower int he sun and the very dark backgrounsd.

Backyard Colors - I took this one to show how one of my UF beds looked backed by the Rudbecki

Porterhouse reflecting the sunlight and glowing so beautifuly.

Runnerup: Midnight Castle backed by Pow Wow Wild Berry coneflowers.

I must say good photography is not my forte (my professional photography brother is cringing as I type that!) and not really a goal as I am racing around to get photos (more cringing). As I have mentioned, mine are all done by phone so any really good noteworthy photos are

a) by accident and b) because the planets were aligned with some really good flower placement.

I am even cheating and posting last year’s favorites since I have nothing this year to beat out these!

I love this Thomas Tew photo-it shows why this is a top favorite flower for me
