tree replacement suggestion

thanks to responses from previous post regarding the potential of this tree (in the center) to grow larger than desired, please recommend replacement of possibly a bush that doesn't typically grow too large. we were thinking of an evergreen similar to the ones on the 2 sides that can possibly be shaped in a circular fashion for an aesthetic appeal? secondly, is planting of replacement recommended by professional only? and what is the suggested height of replacement tree at time of purchase?anything to avoid or be aware of if shaping the new bush on our own?
