Help finding Sofa-bed

I have been looking for a double or queen size sofa-bed for a spare room. I am quite particular in what I like therefore so far I haven’t found one that fits my preferences.

However, the latest Style At Home Magazine (Canadian) has a room designed by Jillian Harris and it’s got the exact couch of my dreams and it’s a queen size sofa bed.

There is nothing saying where the couch was bought though. I looked on the magazine & Jillian Harris’s websites hoping to see the picture & the listing of where everything was bought, but the couch is on neither site.

I took a picture of the photo in the magazine to show you what I like.

It needs to be a double or queen bed. I want two seat cushions (most sofas have 3). These cushions are nice and plump. And the sofa arms are narrow so they don’t make the width of the couch too wide.

I’m attaching the magazine pictures hoping some of you might have an idea where I can find a similar sofa-bed.

Sorry for the rambling post. When I wrote it, it had separate paragraphs. I guess I don’t know the secret of how to do that.

    Can you email the magazine?

I’m guessing you’re looking for something more “real furniture”, but the IKEA Vimle/Finnala line has a sleeper loveseat that folds out into a Queen.

    Try pottery barn

Room & Board. You can select fabrics, cushion filling and sizes.

ShadyWillowFarm, I tried contacting the magazine months ago about my cc renewal, website, Twitter, email, phone (which is listed but the guy who answered said it was a different company) so basically I love the magazine but trying to get ahold of anyone is impossible.

Btydtvn, they have a lot of sofa beds but none with the specs I really want but thanks

FinallyHome, I’ve never heard of room & Board. I’ll check them out. I should have mentioned that I live in Canada so our selection of just about everything isn’t nearly as vast as what you have available in the US

Checkout West Elm...the style reminds me on some of their furniture...

FinallyHome I found 3 sofas on Room & Board and one was a 9 out of 10!! Got my hopes up. Then checking around realized they don’t ship to Canada. Great sofas there though!

That's too bad. They are a pretty good quality and lots of fabric selections.

Found the sofa on her website. It’s by Van Gogh which is a Canadian company. The sofa is in their Kelowna condo that they’ve purchased and renovated to turn into a vacation rental. The link on her website takes you to the Van Gogh website - Retreat sofa bed. Hope that helps.

Angela thanks so much. Can I ask where on her website you found it? I looked all over and couldn’t find anything about that condo. And yes the magazine article was about her decorating the condo.

Angela, I looked at her site again and the Kelowna property thumbnail is right on her front page. I don’t know if they just added the story or if I was blind when I checked her site before but thank you so much for your help.

Lisarobert thank you too. There were some real contenders on West Elm too.

Pam, Room and Board is based in Minnesota. I’m sure if you call them, you could set up a special shipment.

Otherwise, check out Kavuss. They are a Canadian made to order company. Not quite the style you want, but they might be able to work with you.

I bought the full size Murano sleeper sofa for a small guest room. Two cushions, & all the cushions are surprisngly plump. My purchase was online, but the store is in Seattle WA

IMO since you are so picky you better not shop on line at all.

Blazegirl, thank you. Between Van Gogh, West Elm & Kavuss I actually saw a few sofas fitting my size, looks criteria. Thank you everyone for being so generous with your time.

Patricia Colwell, this sofa bed will rarely be used and therefore I have decided to make the room which currently has a real bed that’s used maybe 5-8 times avg a year into something I can myself actually use for things I want. I’m making it into an office/sewing/craft room. Therefore my “pickyness” was based on looks and size (and durability based on reviews) since the room isn’t huge. While it would be great to sit on and test drive a potential sofa, large stores and even all these companies mentioned are hours from me, if not clear across the country as the BC ones are. I believe that if I pick one from a reputable & large company (and believe me I’ve been reading literally hundreds of reviews) that for the occasional sleep and sitting, they will be fine not having sat on them in person.
