bathroom update help!

Hi—hoping for some help with our master bath. The first two pics are our current bath, the second two are ones we liked online.
The current bath has laminate wood floor, a vanity with solid surface top, and a tiled shower. There is nothing terrible about it, it just doesn’t really fit with the rest of the house and has a very yellow-brown color that we don’t love.
We know we like subway tile for the shower, a clear glass door, black hardware, and my wife really loves the honeycomb floor tile.
A couple questions:

  1. Our trim is oak, but every picture we like has white trim. Is there a way for this look to work with oak trim/doors instead of white? I hate to have different trim and doors in one room, I feel like that could start a domino effect.
  2. The vanity is 84” wide and sits flush between two walls. Would it be better to have it completely fill that space, or have it be smaller and more like a furniture piece? I feel like that might look a little weird but I’m just a guy with limited sense of design. :)
  3. ANY suggestions are welcome as far as how to tie this together. We don’t have access to good designers where we live, so trying to make it work with a tile shop and buying a vanity online and don’t want it to look disjointed. Don’t know how to choose wood vs painted vanity, etc.

Thank you!
