Have you googled the name of that quartz to see other examples of it installed? I’ve seen lots of quartz like that but without the name it’s hard to know if that is typical for that particular quartz

I wouldn't want that piece whether or not is was in the design. Pick out your own piece. Solid grey in the right warm tone shouldn't have been a problem. It looks like a manufacturing error to me. Probably heavily discounted.

If you get a new top, check out Silestone Grey Expo, it's in a Group 1 price category. It's a nice warm gray with a very fine speckle. I'll post pics of my new mudroom. But if this is a rental, seems like it wouldn't be cost effective to replace this.

That little piece of stone that

goes up the wall is your backsplash- do not install anything else.

@cyc2001 that is actually just a shadow, there is no stone going up the wall.

@The Kitchen Place Thanks. The silestone grey expo is really nice and would have been perfect! I feel it's a flaw in the quartz and feel they should take responsibility for it. I am eager to finish this project and move on however on the other hand, it really bothers me even if it's a rental.

If they weren't so perfectly consistent, I'd say they were silicone smudges. That's the look and you can bet the manufacturer told you so.

Fabricators buy popular colors in bulk, then name them themselves.

That doesn't look nice at all. I wonder if he picked up a piece of 2nd's to keep his

cost down (if there is such a thing). Ask him again where he purchased it from so

you can do your own investigation.
