I like it, Theresa, and I think you did a wonderful job in using the colors as you did! The single strip at the top and bottom is a winner and looks really good. While I'm far from an expert on any kind of quilting, I've seen where they sometimes do more straight lines when there are a lot circle type blocks and the curvy lines when the blocks appear more straight.....sort of to off-set......I think. While I don't really know about that, I do know I like it!

It is stunning. I like curvy quilting when the patchwork is mostly straight lines. Looks great.

I agree, the curvy quilting softens the angles in the piecing. That is a very striking design! What is the name of the pattern? I absolutely love the colors you chose and the way they pop from the white background. I'm sure they will treasure it for years to come!

Char, the pattern is called Trailside by Marlous . When I first talked to Erin about a quilt, she showed me a picture with these sorts of colours. And the queen size mockup on the pattern is pretty much these colours. So that was easy.

The background is really a very light beige, almost like a Grunge. The fabric is Northcott Canvas, lovely to work with but ravels badly.

I will repost the smaller version for comparison, done in mostly brights. I think it looks good either way.
