The branches of the green crabapple are being bent over by the weight of all the fruit it is producing. Also: have you been pruning it to have an open center or did it just grow like that? Because if there has been much pruning the aspect of falling open may be an outcome of that pruning.

If it were a weeping crabapple it would look more like a weeping cherry and other small weeping trees structurally.

Yes, clearly the weight of the fruit is a problem, I've even plucked them out one year to try to release it, but it didn't help. I have pruned but lightly.

Do you know if there is a way I could prune it so that it has a branch grow straight up? It seems that all main branches are way bent so my guess is that it's too late at this point but I'm no expert.

Thin the fruits when small to take the weight off - notice that the tree is already sending new vertical shoots up from behind the arching portions on its own. New branches coming up from near the center and then bending over with age is a basic growth mode common to apples and their familial relations the roses also. Even the purple leaved crab to the right of the dwarf looking one will have its on modified version of this going on.

Speaking of that other tree if you look up the 'Royalty' crab apple you may find that is what kind it is.

It does look like a Royalty crabapple, thanks for that tip. So I think I'll thin fruit next year on these branches reaching up and we'll see. If it grows taller I won't be able to do so. I guess I better accept it is how it is, and it does make clouds of gorgeous white flowers so I do love it.
