What type of cabinets did you use?

Cabinets are Barker Cabinets RTA made in Oregon. We chose clear coat Cherry. We had a very good experience!

Very nice! Was there wood flooring underneath the peninsula or did you have to add it? What kind of stone is that? I can’t tell if it’s a soapstone or not.

Sammy, good question! The wood needed to be replaced where the peninsula had been removed. My hubby sanded the new pieces down to the thickness needed, installed them and then finished it them with poly. He used a satin poly which wasn't quite shiny enough so used a buffer to make it a perfect match!

Perimeter countertops are honed jet mist granite.

I just stumbled upon your post and I love your perimeter countertops. I also love soapstone but worry about it for many reasons. Your countertops are really beautiful. Are you still just as happy with them and the honed finish? Are they more dark gray or black? Thanks

We still love them. I like a matte finish for its casual vibe. I see more a charcoal gray than black (compare the countertop color to the black hardware).
