The workstation sink just is not for me. I don't want my sink encumbered with anything, I want it completely open, and I prefer to use my big cutting board on my counter. I go to my sink a hundred times a day, and don't want to have to push things aside, or feel cramped to put my dishes or pots and pans in there. But if I had to get a workstation sink, I would only get the size of the Kohler Stages 45 or another workstation sink in similar size. I'd not get one that fits a 36" cabinet base because then the sink is more closed (IMHO) with the accessories.

Everyone works differently in their kitchen. I am linking a thread below about 28" workstation sinks. Towards the end, Wilson853 and Emilymch post pics of their workstation sinks. What they pictured is what I would not like, but they love their sinks. So there is no right or wrong answer; this decision really depends on your personality and how you work in your kitchen.
