I want the stainless with bronze handles sooooo bad! But.... I just went to my local showroom yesterday and the Cafe stainless appliances show fingerprints horribly. My dreams are crushed. It’s not worth the horrible fingerprints I’ll inevitably have.... the matte black and white cafe appliances showed nothing, but i don’t like their look near as much as the stainless and bronze hardware. Off to the drawing board.

@Ashley-Paul Buttars I have the GE Cafe 48” range, fridge, and fridge drawers all in stainless and have no problem with fingerprints! At all! And I am not a neat freak, but hate fingerprints. The showroom appliances must have been filthy.

They will certainly make a statement. They will be a conversation opportunity. 'Jewelry' on your kitchen FOR SURE. Me personally,I would not want the emphasis there, but plenty do. If you love it--go for it.

I love the range, would pass on the black.

You will find cleaning stainless much easier than you think. Get a microfiber cloth only use it for your stainless with hot water a bit of vinegar and the big thing is to wipe in the direction of the grain of the stainless thats it. I have a lot of stainless in my kitchen I run a catering biz from my house and at the end of a long day I wipe down all my stainless in less than 5 mins. I even have stainless drawer cabinets on either side of my gas range. BTW the handles do not all have to match.

Thank you for the advice! :) I have 3 littles though and I am a tad OCD. I don’t just want my appliances to look clean for one hour at night when my kids are asleep. when I went to the showroom, I put my hands and slid them around on dozens of different stainless Fridges. All of them were clean as a whistle when I began. It varied greatly how noticeable my fingerprints were, but the cafe Stainless fridge was easily the worst! If I didn’t have kids, I might consider it, but that fridge is definitely off the table now. :( the Bosch stainless 800 series fridge is my next choice. Stainless, but showed virtually no fingerprints even with a fresh coat of lotion on my hands.

I think of stainless as a neutral.

I have the Cafe matte black range, it's a lovely deep charcoal gray, not true black-black.

Up your lighting if you choose black anything. But especially a giant black cube removing all the light. .

Pledge on the yellow and brown can prevents fingerprints.

LOVE!!! as long as the style of the appliances match then i say go for the different metals. also have some of each of the metals in other areas. For exampe matte stainless hardware, black and bronze light fixtures

It can work, but I think it depends entirely on your other choices in your kitchen to make mixed appliances make sense.

We have two colors of appliances in our kitchen too, but there's reasons for it, dictated by the other elements in the room. We have a two-tone kitchen with black cabinets on the bottom and white cabinets on the top. So we did a white range hood to blend in with the uppers and a black range and black dishwasher to blend in with the base cabinets. Our only floor-to-ceiling cabinet (our pantry) is white, and the small closet that holds our water heater is white, so we also did a white fridge to be consistent with those. So all the upper stuff in the kitchen is white, all the lower stuff is black, and all the floor-to-ceiling items are white. Our appliance colors simply follow and underline that established pattern.

That's neat, Jillius! I don't think I've seen an example of a kitchen where the appliances blend in the cabinets so well without actually having panels on them.

Thanks! Yes, we lucked out. This was a budget kitchen, so panel ready appliances were not in the cards, and we were picking cabinet colors from whatever IKEA was offering at the time.

OP, I struggle with matching things well, so I don't have a recommendation I'd want to stand behind, LOL. But I just want to say that I find GE's stainless body/bronze handle combination interesting and have been wondering if anyone is using the combination as a way to put a little jewelry on an otherwise stainless steel kitchen. (99.5 percent of the photos of the custom GE colors/handles "in the wild" use white appliances.) Let us know what you decide!

Thanks for your opinions, everyone. I am still undecided. We will be working with a designer, but she is not available for several weeks. Meanwhile my refrigerator is making very angry sounds. I don't want to be rushed into a decision. If I do have to order appliances NOW, then she will just have to design around them. I think the fact that I am stalling and asking opinions means I should just go with all stainless.

I’d like to start by saying that I like brushed bronze and used that finish for my light fixtures when I redid my apartment 5-6 years ago, and I would choose the same fixtures if I was doing it again today. I just don’t care for the brushed handles on the appliances. They look really trendy, versus something more timeless. It also depends on what you’re pairing it with. If you already have 2 colors in the appliances, how much more are you adding with cabinet, counter, backsplash and floor?
