Do you need seating for 8 all the time? Is it for adults and children or all adults? Putting the table under the chandelier would be too far from the wall to do a banquette. Banquettes are awkward to get into and out of the interior seats. A round table would look good in that space centered under the chandelier.

There is no worse seating in a DR than a banguette IMO getting in and out is a PITA and any kind of bench seating in a DR is barely above a picnic table comfort level. I would look at a table that can expand but I have no idea the size of the space in both directions so I need that for sure before advising.

D M -yes the seating is for adults & children. We are going to move chandelier once we make a decision. I thought about the difficulty of getting in and out. Think it’s best to stick with table & chairs. Thank you so much!

Patricia-I agree-think it’s best to go with table & chairs. The space is 11’ sliding door to wall and from the back wall to our island is 9 feet so we would need to leave room to walk. We can move the chandelier even though hubby doesn’t really want to... Thank you.
