It's not hot here yet, but looking at the forecast is downright scary!

What a fabulous red!

Oh wow. All my flowers are toast except the ones that get a few hours of early morning sun and the ones I shielded with beach umbrellas. Buds fried to brown and I have burnt leaves everywhere. The plants were all well watered. Two days of 112 is too much.

Not this last hellish heatwave but the previous one I stopped by Stagecoach Inn and the roses there looked good. Even a few blooms in that 102 temp so I was impressed. The roots looked well shaded and maybe that helps. I want to go back and see it in the spring.

The Inn is closed but there were volunteers in costume at the blacksmith the cabin and Adobe and outside the inn. Dedicated folks! They were great.

I was on my way to Ventura to spend some time on Main street which has been closed to traffic. It's so nice there. A happy atmosphere during this pandemic. The beach is right there too. Passing through the hills around thousands oaks it was 104. Downright nasty!

I'm glad you got some beauties Jeri. That's a lovely garden at Stagecoach. Thoughtful of you to provide the information on all the roses for visitors.
