Hudee Ring sink help!

We took the cast iron sink out of the old farmhouse and had it installed in our new house just this May. (Needless to say it is probably easier to find a pot of gold than a quality plumber in our area. I keep find quality issues with their work but that is another story.) This 50 year old sink never gapped or sagged in the old house and it was installed in a formica countertop there. Is there anything we can do on our own to fix this? The sink is clipped up from underneath but after it was installed there was not gapping between the ring and sink. Maybe the caulking they used was bad? Is this a total redo? I really don't want them back in my house.... thank you!
