Dryer vent dilemma

I wasn't happy with the look of our dryer vent going out thru a window well where we had to take out the old window.

We painted the wood insert and the vent pipe, but it still looked bad. So I put up a little tension curtain rod and made a cute curtain to cover it all. Now I'm happy! The gas piping for the dryer is still showing but painting it white makes me hate it less.

I think you have created a really stylish area. Does not look like a LR in a basement at all. Make sure you keep that vent cleaned. You are fortunate that it will be an easy job because the whole thing is accessible.

FYI - You can now vent dryers inside. There are options for this that will help - also keeps the air warmer and have more moisture in the winter. I think this would solve your problem.
