I don't see anything but very minor scratches but I see very uneven grout joints. What will be done about that before grouting?

With as light as those are, I'd try this.

Probably nothing, installer says they can't polish it out due to most of the scratches are very deep, you can literally feel it with your finger tips.

Up to you then. The terrible grout joints would bother me to know end. Is there lippage as well? Why are you allowing the installer to get away without replacing the tile if he damaged them on installation?

I think we need to know if the tiles were checked for damage when they were received and if they were perfect then the installer is to blame and needs to man up. I agree the grout lines are a mess.

All these tiles have scratches on them, the rest of the rooms have nothing, but those were installed after I complaint about the scratches. Im going to have them lift these tiles and install them somewhere else.

Wow! You are saying they damaged 30% of your tiles? The 100m2 = 1070sf. That is a TONNE of tile. Are they stone or are they man-made products? Usually deep scratches will show the body of a man-made tile...but they won't change the look of stone.

You have installed 2850sf of tile. These are large format tiles. In N. America the average cost of installation = $12 - $15/sf (just for labour). The tiles are extra. A large format tile like this would cost $8 - $12/sf. The total cost of this job would be between $20 - 27/sf. If I do the math that means a job like this done in N. America = $55,000 - $75,000.

Please be aware that you will most likely lose some of those tiles (1000sf of pulled tile = 10% breakage = 100sf of replacements needed). Please make sure you have access to the same DYE LOT of this tile (assuming this is a man made tile). If you cannot, it would be better to leave the tiles alone and get a hefty discount (30% of your tiles have been damaged...that's A LOT!).

Thanks for the advice, the company I bought these high gloss porcelain tiles from has agreed to replace the tiles as they determined on site inspection that it is defective tiles and should not scratch this easily. Cost to remove and reinstall will be covered by them. Haha yes it's a costly job but worth the investment.

There shouldn't be deep scratches in tile after installation. Experienced tilers that have good installations practices won't leave scratches.

Do you have a pic that is not a closeup? A closeup isn't the correct distance to judge anything, including scale. What is the material?
