I am willing to spend more money for a sofa that will not begin to stretch/sag and look terrible after a year or so. I also want the company to offer performance stain resistant fabric.

I'm also looking and there are American made brands recommended here, Lee, Sherill, Century, King Hickory, Hancock & Moore etc. I would expect to pay about 4K at least for one of the above. We also like the custom line at Bassett. We have a sectional from Arhaus and the cushions have compressed and I have heard the same for PB and West Elm. Crate and Barrel might have something you like and I like that you can read reviews.

Yes, I won't buy RH. It's what I call catalog furniture. I am trying to decide whether or not to spend 8k and plan on 10 yrs or just 5 K for 5 yrs because nothing is made like it used to be. Cushions flattening seem to be a problem across the board.....

which brand are you considering?

Well for 8 K I can get a Century which is the most comfy. For 4k I can get the crate and Barrel Axis or the Havertys Destination. I am trying to decide how long I want to keep it. Since I have 3 kids and a dog I'm not sure any fabric will look good after 5 yrs. The bassett custom line is comfy and appealing but they won't spray it with stain protector which has worked wonders for us the in past. Also they are quite pricy and if you spray your own furniture it voids the warranty.

I really wonder if any soft comfy foam can last. I just said to my hubs I wish Temper Pedic made sofa cushions. We ordered a mattress from them for 4K and it is worth every cent. Just wish I could find the sofa equivalent. My Ikea chair seats have held up but they are so hard.
