Soy Gel clean up

Hello everyone!

I read for hours the best way to take the paint off the brick in my new to me sunroom. It was painted yellow on one wall, and having a sunroom has been a dream of mine - having a sunroom with exposed brick was just crazy. So now I've got a sunroom with painted over brick.

So I read, and I decided on SoyGel. I've done two layers so far, omg what a mess. Luckily, I don't hate the color and I kind of like the distressed look, because it's definitely not coming off down to clean brick. But here's my question, has anyone else used this on brick - NOT down to clean brick? Right now it's distressed, and that's great - but the wall feels a little slimy and there are chunks of paint here and there from my scraping. I could really use some advice on my next step. Wait until it just dries on its own and then brush it off? Degreaser? Soap and water and a washrag? ugh...help
