Do you have any idea of how your floors are constructed? If you're the original owner, do you have the architectural plans?

Unfortunately I don't know. I'm not the original owner so I don't have the plans.

contact the manufacturer of your WD and ask them if they can be stacked. there's specific hardware to hook them together, so be sure to ask about that too.

Thanks. I'm looking to buy new, so would only consider if it's recommended. I just want to be sure the floor can hold the weight.

I missed that part. your house is not old. if the closet was specifically designed to hook up laundry machines, I'd go ahead and assume the engineers factored in weight. if you're scared, hire a pro to inspect.

Personally, I wouldn't assume anything. I've had so many bad experiences with corner cutting in house builds expecially in areas where plumbing is run ( e.g.what do you mean they cut the floor joist to run the waste line)? But, you could find out the weight of your current washer, then find out the weight of your proposed units together, add in some extra weight in case you're putting a wet load in the dryer while you're washing a new load, and see if it's the same weight.
