The mantle is painted gray wood.

Is this your furniture? Do you like a traditional style?

What style is the exterior of the home? Looks a bit farmhouse with all the paneling and shiplap installation. The top of it may just be the same paneling that is already painted white. I suggest for starters, you prep and paint it to match the walls and you whitewash the rock. Paint the mantel and the stair railing black. Then take your time researching what you might do here. Once the flooring and stairs are taken care of, the FP may begin to become clear in your vision.

Here’s the exterior of the home. Custom built in the 80’s. The furniture was the previous owner’s. We’re more transitional and want to lean more towards clean lines.

I love the fireplace. I also love the other wood detail in the house. I’d bring in wood floors, more contemporary furniture and art. Some interesting lighting elements, also.

Houssao, no this is not our furniture. It was the previous owners’. We have moved in with these two pieces but not necessarily tied to them.
