That banana bloom is quite interesting. You both do so much no wonder you don't have time to do all. Where do you get all the energy to do what you do?

I agree with Brad! Amazing that you always plant so many seedlings! Weather is cooler here for a few days but not in the 40s!! Papa Goose looks like it has more blooms to come. Nice rebloom!

Papa Goose looks great on rebloom! The banana bloom is interesting. I've never seen one of those before. Do you grow multiple kinds of banana trees?

Brad, we don't have as much energy as you might think. I am retired, but Bob still works. During the growing season, we work in the garden every night (and on the weekend too) for a couple of hours before we have dinner (usually around 8:30 or 9). Luckily for us, here in Indiana in June the sun doesn't go down until about 9:30.

Debra, banana plants were one of Bob's first loves. He has 4 varieties right now. I don't love them because most of the season they look pretty ratty. The wind shreds their leaves. He will get little bananas on the one pictured--very seedy--not edible. It's just impossible to get ripe bananas in this climate. They are very picky about temperatures. Recently it has gotten into the low fifties (now the low 40's) and they are showing signs of distress from the cold temperatures.

I really like Papa Goose. Supposedly, we will be down in the 40s for night temps later this week. So hard for me to believe, it has been much cooler and no humidity the last few days. Just jumped from hot to cool so fast.

Papa Goose is lovely and the banana bloom is very interesting. I grew coffee plants in the greebhouse for a while and a couple of other flowerig but a disaster with the heat killed them off and I don't know that I will do it again since it eas so disappoiting.

Yes, growing in a greenhouse can be challenging. Bob had one heater go out last season. He really likes that brand of heater but they aren't made anymore so he had to switch to another. Several seasons ago, I bought him a temperature gauge that notifies his phone if the temps get too high or two low. I know last winter he was up in the middle of the night a couple of times fussing with the heater. But growing tropicals is his first love. I'm afraid in a couple of years he will need to replace the plastic covering the greenhouse. It's been in place for 16 years but so far so good.
