Do you ever get seed pods?

It's still in bloom Kara. They are Plumeria relatives as you know. I did get on a stepladder to take a whiff..and its a faint Gardenia scent. Interesting how many different families of tropical plants have that same scent. Must attract bees and people...

Edited to add: This is the same pachypodium that I cannot manage to keep alive more than a few years. At some point rot sets in. Should I try to protect the plant from winter rains?

I protect mine from winter rains, and I also have it in soil that drains very well. I planted one in my front yard, and it did not survive that long because it got too much water from the sprinkler system, even though I have it set for succulents and drought resistant plants.

I move mine into the greenhouse in winter. No other way for me to keep it dry enough.

Mine is planted right next to the sidewalk..all that concrete I think is helping. Also,the trees and shrubs behind it probably do a great job of sucking water out of the ground. Third,I did plant it high.That made sure the base stays pretty dry.

Interesting that it gets huge in wet Florida. They have a dry season in winter despite what 50" of rain a year? Still,those tree sized plants do on occasion, collapse even on them.

Very nice! How tall is your plant? I have one in a 6” pot.

It's about 6' The older it gets,the faster its growing...but fast here in the S.F. bay area Maria,is no match for the tropics. You would in three years have one just as large and on the way to 20' or more.

Tropicals usually don't get very large here..but they are in ground under real sunlight. We settle for that.
