Have you thought about painting the trim a light warm gray to pick up some of the color in the stone?

Add color, texture, and height to your landscape. Make the chairs into a little sitting area by angling them a bit with a small table in between. Paint your front door a deeper turquoise (same color family as the boxes). Move the welcome sign to the right of the door - it is definitely darkening your entry where it stands now. All of these changes will bring your eye down. The house looks great as is. I like that the windows aren't a feature.

Great suggestions. Yes landscaping is our next big budget project for next year! Leveling the yard and completely resawding. We will be adding more plants as well.

The front door is wood and is new when we painted the house. I can’t paint over that Yet. Should I remove the sign all together or move it elsewhere. I can’t move it to the other side because it will block my doorbell. You won’t see it at all on the other side as well. Currently I have plants. Here is a close up.

I hand painted the stone. I can definitely add a table between the chairs. i considered changing the chairs to a solid wood to match the door but didn’t land on anything.

I had oroginally done a trim ans hated it. I did 2 colors. Black which was awful and a taupe/grey which I didnt love. I went back to the white because it made me smile. I posted the pics in my neighborhood (which has about 4000 houses) and now everyone is painting white with no shutters. Nobody sees my house as I am in the very back on a culdesac but I smile every time I see it. I can’t help but feel like it needs wood slatted shutters. Or maybe trim around the window in a wood color.

I am also considering having my friend who does gutters do a bronze or copper round gutter Replacement.

Oh - in your original pics the door looked burgundy. I think the welcome sign totally overtakes your entry. Move it to the right of the door - on the siding portion - not right next to the door. Or, place it to the left - so it would face the garage. Or, place it on the garage wall. It doesn't need to be seen from the road. Also, add a much larger, entry rug - maybe with some color to highlight the space. If you love the wreath, add some light green leaves and white flowers so it doesn't get lost on your door.

I've never liked to make gutters a highlight of the home (except certain styles of older or modern design), so that isn't something I'd recommend.

I really think landscaping will change the dynamic of your house. So, I'd hold off on any other changes.

I think your house looks lovely. I would not change it, but if you want to, do a very light gray on the trim. Leave the gutters alone.

I would get a wonderful Welcome mat for your front door and remove the sign completely, along with the other things that are beneath it. Your home is lovely with the white on white paint. Fresh, crisp. Add color with landscape, annuals, etc. in front of the porch area.

If you are open to losing the sign just get rid of it. It’s just clutter.keep the white trim and gutters, it’s classic. It sounds like you really want shutters so do that! It’s not many windows- I would get Atlantic shutters in black or Charleston green. They cost MUCH more than wood shutters but they have a lifetime warranty.

I agree completely with decoenthusiaste. Also I would remove everything you have on the sides of the door. Just one big pot of flowers at the left front edge on porch.

seems like the concensus to remove The sign. I am going to look for a table. Landscaping we have already had on the list as we have a sink hole in the front yard. That requires major addressing and with redoing our bathroom, kitchen, and then painting exterior and entire basement that will have to be put on hold for another year or so.

I think it is fair to say the overall feel is no to shutters, not really to painting trim, remove the door clutter (already done), and focus on landscaping instead of gutters. Thank you all!

Your home is lovely. Have you considered painting your garage doors and the trim surrounding them the darkest color in your stone? This color is not it, but it gives you an idea of it. The eye goes to the lightest color first, which hopefully becomes your porch area.

You could paint the trim, but not gray. Pick up a cream or tan color from the stone. Keep the garage door the same color as the house so it doesn’t pop out.
