Cabinets Refacing

I'm looking into remodeling my kitchen and family room. I called multiple companies for quotes and the amount is out of budget.

I want to get some professional opinion on "refacing" the cabinets instead of getting new
ones. My cabinets are in very good condition, nothing broken or stained. Is it worth to spend in refacing ?

Secondly, what kind of modern designs we can use to convert the existing traditional style cabinets. Attached are my traditional cabinet pictures.

York advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Zeen

Refacing is typically about 75% of the cost of new cabinets.

Refacing can be more costly than new. For a lower budget, just DIY paint those. The FB group, kitchen cabinet painting experts, will show you how,

I think the cabinets you have are very nice. I wouldnt do anything to them, except add some hardware. Its a nice kitchen, as it is.

Sorry, I love your cabs! (The bar stools, not so much.) I would spend my money on other updates. New counters, stools, backsplash, runners. It is a gorgeous space with lots of potential.

You have a few areas . Break it up w a nautical darkish blue in a section or two. And add dark hardware . The fridge / oven wall and the wall far left beyond that doorway pick your color.

Thank you all for taking time and providing thoughtful suggestions!
I really want to paint these cabinets, they look good but not my style. I like cooler tones of grey/white/ with pop of dark blue color on island cabinets. The challenge is to imagine if it will look good together. There are too many cabinets stretched from kitchen to butler pantry to dining area and family room tv console and for my taste it's too much maple.
For cabinet paints is there a brand that I should consider?

Thanks much again! and have a wonderful week ahead!

Please don't think about DIY painting as many cabinets as your have. You will either do it poorly, or you will still be doing it next year. And maybe the year after that. Please search these forums.. Several people have outlined their war stories. A few that have been successful have outlined their 87 step process (well, that may be a little bit of exaggeration, but it is quite lengthy)

Don't let a "house painter" paint your cabinets either. Search these forums for information on that, too

If you decide to have a "cabinet professional" paint your cabinets, be seated when you get the price. There is a chance that you will have a revelation and say "I love maple!!

That many cabinets would easily be 12-15K for someone that knows what they are doing. It’s a lot of cabinets. Join the Kitchen Cabinet Painting Experts group on FB for the whole step by step instructions and videos. At least you’ll learn how to screen out the craigslist 2K house painters. You will also see success stories. And those who gave up and are looking for pros. And a lot of pros, contributing their valued expertise.
