No to an accent under the hood. Keep it simple. I probably would not choose white tile with your counters. Maybe something creamier.

The overall look in the inspo pic is a bit more farmhouse and rustic than what you have. Your kitchen is a bit more traditional with the curves of your hood, the detail on your counter stools. I see a counter top that is a honed black finish, possibly soapstone. Yours is polished granite with brown, blue or purplish / gray speckles. Try looking for a creamier tile, perhaps one with a stamped imprint like the one in your inspo pic. Sonoma tile makes some stamped tiles like the one in the accent shown, look at their Stellar line.

No to an accent over the range. the subway tile is too white, you would need something more creamy. I like the accent tile you chose - would you consider doing that accent tile everywhere?

Hmmm...maybe but would it be overkill to do the accent from floor to celiing?

Doing one tile from floor to ceiling is no longer considered an accent. LOL. And where in your kitchen are you installing this from floor to ceiling?
