Salvia 'Bee's Bliss' in full sun?

I would like to add Salvia 'Bee's Bliss' to a native garden that gets full sun. Most native-plant sources say it "tolerates" or "likes" some shade in hot inland areas. We live in eastern LA county with summer temperatures typically in the mid to upper-90s. Our soil is clay.


I'm wondering if it will prefer afternoon shade in our zone. I like its low-growing habit.


Does anyone have success growing it in these conditions?
