There are well over 100 Solidago (Goldenrod) species. This does look like one. But which?

There are no records or observations for Solidago virgaurea in Texas. I would say out of the 26 or so species you have the 4 closest looking, ( to me) are petiolaris, radula, virgata, and wrightii.

Or perhaps something like Solidago curtisii (Curtis' Goldenrod)?

Why do you think so? I notice that S. curtisii has flowers along the stem nodes, while your plant has the flower cluster on top. 🤔

I could most likely get a positive ID with much sharper pictures.
