what she looked like before I made the cutting. My neighbor brought this plumeria over on a boat in 1942 from Australia i Have the last from it’s strain from that original cutting she smuggled over. She passed away at the age of 99 in 2008 and left this in my care. Any help would be appreciated.

After making a cutting from my plumeria I got impatient around 3 weeks in thinking it could be to wet and getting rot. So I dug it up and broke the few fresh roots it had. It started only with claws and now has a 4inch leaf. Should I cut the leaf off to help it heal/re-grow the roots?
