Would like to create an arch and some vines

I am located in Fort Lauderdale Florida USA zone 10.

I have an entrance gate which is 36" wide, and on each side of the gate is a masonry column 24"X24" square, with a white masonry cap on top. I would like to grow some vines going up both columns.

As you can see, I cannot plant them on the inside of the gate as the inside of the entrance are bricks set on thick mortars. But the outside is regular soil with an inch of crush stones so I can plant something on the outside.

What kind of vines would work? It is mostly shaded under a mature Beauty Leaf tree on the left and a tall fish tail palm on the right.

I also would like to attach an arch between the two columns at the top to allow the vines to bridge between them. Any ideas on material, method of attachment to use for that would be greatly appreciated.
