Our home lacks the right space in entryways and with two small kids the clutter this winter feels like it will kill us!

Ive targeted this corner of my garage to be transformed into a serviceable mudroom. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I should do with the space? obviously ill be relocating those bikes and the tool hooks to another area of my ceiling and Im open to dismantling that shelving area (relocating all that stuff up there will be complicated but not impossible). Ive also started epoxying the floor for a cleaner finish.

For measurement purposes I have about 5ft from that shelving unit to the door so Id probably be able to fit a decent bench along that wall.
