Castor beans are very poisonous... ricin is derived from it.

They are a lovely annual and while poisonous, they are not accidentally so. You've got to chew on the seeds and swallow them (in theory, chewing on the rest of the plant is bad too, but no so much).

From a likelihood of poisoning, ranks below anything with poisonous berries that look edible (like Daphne or Yew) and certainly for a gardener, no more risky then Monkshood.

its a kid risk thing for me... as with most other plants with that potential .. no kids.. no risk.. and the hell with the cat and dog if they are that stupid.. lol ... and they usually arent ...

i think they are pretty easy to raise from seed ... i dont know why you would want to work so hard to dig thru that meadow soil to try to move it ... if in fact .. you wanted it ..
