Trucor Flooring - Pics or reviews

last modified: 4 years ago

I'm looking to install LVP and came across Trucor samples. The samples are beautiful but I'm finding a hard time seeing install photos or even reviews online. Can anyone share any info on these floors?

I haven’t found a trucor flooring that I like yet. I’m still looking. The last samples I brought home were too cool compared to the other wood in my house. My favorite flooring so far has been coretec calypso oak. I decided to do some lighting fixes in my house first, as it might change my decision.

I had a sample of TruCor Barley Oak from the Alpha Collection, which I liked. I can’t find any photos or much of anything online about it. It’s so hard to decide based off one of sample. 😩

I am in the process of choosing between TruCor Prime Rustic Oak for our basement vs a NuCore product which has the same wear layer and is less expensive. I've read reviews that say the NuCore can scratch easily, but haven't seen much about TruCor Prime. I too would love to hear about anyone's experience with this TruCor product.

I just installed trucor in my basement and am really happy with it and my contractors said it seemed like a great product. I went with bungalow oak and think it’s prettier in person. I love the beveled edge and it seems to be pretty scratch resistant.

    Here it is installed

I’m looking at trucor travertine noce. Does anyone have any experience with this?

If you visit trucofloors.com there is a gallery of the styles they offer! We are currently having Trucor Prime Arctic Oak installed in two rooms and I love it! I was able to find a photo of it at trucofloors.com

Please update on how it wears

@kmarie86 Did you end up picking Tuscany Oak? That is what I’m currently looking at and would love to see a picture if you don’t mind!

@Jenna No I haven't installed anything yet. The Tuscany Oak is still my favorite but wish I can see some real install pics.

@kmarie86 we are leaning towards Sienna Oak now- it’s definitely hard without more pics!

were installing 2 types in our house. If you go onto TruCor.com you will see pics of the finished product

    Not Happy

i just purchased some TruCor flooring. We bought the SPC Emperador Dark. This is by far the hardest to install of any flooring I have done. It’s about impossible to do and I have put down many many different kinds of flooring from various laminate types to tile. after Putting down 2 boxes I got so mad that it’s all going back. Double the price of what we normally buy and half the quality. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Hey everyone! We found TruCor Alabaster Oak yesterday, and we loved it! Has anyone else installed TruCor? If so, did you like it? Just wondering bc I can’t find much info on it.

I too would like to see it installed. The home is more mid century design in Rancho Mirage near Palm Springs. Slot if glass, sliders, modern/ global furnishings. Definitely requires a lighter look. I am looking at Tru Cor Carrara Gray, 16”x32”. 5.5 mm SPC, Waterproof, dog friendly with painted bevel.

Has anyone installed yes and if so, pictures? Feedback?
    Thanks!

At this point, has anyone else installed TruCor flooring in their home? It came highly recommended by our contractor and flooring store. I like the Russet Oak a lot, though it’s more expensive than what we were planning to go with.

TruCor is made by Dixie Home. Excellent company with excellent flooring. I sell a lot of it and haven't had any issues with it. Recommended

@Kristen Did you install TruCor Barley Oak from the Alpha Collection? That's what my designer is recommending. She said that it looks realistic and that it's been installed in million dollar homes in Hilton Head. I had asked for an LVP that looks like White Oak. We like that it doesn't have the deep bevels. All of the new production is 20 mil. When ordering be sure to specify that you want the 20 mil because they might still have some of the 12 mil in the warehouse.

Here is a pic of TruCor Big Sky installed in a customer's home. They love it. The rustic and worn look is intentional. It's not for everyone, but the customer wanted the rustic look.

TruCor Bungalow Oak was installed throughout the house minus the master bath at the beginning of October. I can’t speak to the ease of install since I had it professionally installed, but I like the product and it’s look. Attached a couple of pictures for reference. I have a few more under different lighting conditions if anyone is interested.

    I’m looking at Salerno Oak!

New Trucor luxury vinyl plank scratches easily from dog toenails and human nails. Big mistake. My Shaw LVP never did this.

I am looking at the prime XL line Terra Oak and confused about installing this brand vs the Mannington Adura max line Swiss Oak Nougat. We are leaning towards the adura simple due to lack of reviews on the Trucor. The Trucor seems to have a beautiful bevel and 9x72 planks as opposed to 7x48bof the adura. Any photos and reviews on installed experience will greatly help. Also attaching photos of the 2 planks.

A work in progress....this is Trucor luxury vinyl, in Travertine Gold. We have had dogs AND human toenails on it--no scratches! So far, neither amateur or pro has believed it was not stone. They can't believe it's VINYL! Love, love, love it!!!!

Being near the Mexican border, I have been stuck with tile for many years...NEVER AGAIN! This vinyl "gives" as I step on the floating floor, and plastic won't be breaking when I drop it.

I highly recommend this Trucor vinyl!!!

I just stumbled upon Trucor PRIME XXL LVP. It has 10” X 84” long planks which I have never seen before . Waiting on some samples and trying to find reviews. It’s 10mm to and is checking a lot of boxes.

Me too loving the look and size of the XXL Trucor plank but looking for some reviews. I also just found out they also make Trucor Prime which is 12” X 90” but that might be overwhelming in my home.

Three homes thus far in our subdivision of nearly 10 year old homes have had to replace builder grade flooring. All have gone with Trucor. At this point all 3 homes have selected Trucor Prime WPC. One home has had this down for 3-4 years with 3 large active dogs and 4 cats and there is not a mark on the floor. Their house just sold in hours with 4 bids. In another home a bar stool fell on the floor and did not leave a dent. We are going with Trucor SPC mainly because we like the colors a bit better. I have taken a fork to the product sample and cannot seem to scratch it.

I couldn't find many photos or reviews on Trucore XXL Mellow Oak LVP flooring when I wanted to purchase it so I thought I would write a review. The planks were installed in July 2022, so I've had them for about a year and a half now.

Texture - I initially thought that the more textured planks made them look and feel more luxurious. The texture was one of the reasons that I wanted these. However, once they were installed, I quickly noticed that it was too much texture. We work from home and after a day of walking around barefoot on the floors, you can feel all of the very indented bevels and texture. It's bothersome even with socks on. In our area, it's customary to remove your shoes when entering the home so it's always on my mind when we have guests over.

Patterns - The sample had a greyish tone with some color variations in it and maybe one or 2 wood-look notches. However, when we received the planks, we noticed that the greyish tone we loved wasn't on many of the planks. The planks we recieved had more of a beige color to them, sometimes even yellow tones. The pattern is repeated over and over making the planks look super cheap. If you are looking for something luxurious, this isn't it.

Painted bevel - I loved this in the sample, but as mentioned above, the bevel feel so indented and just allow for dirt to get stuck in the bevels making it impossible to get the floors clean. My dad comes to visit often and refuses to walk around without shoes on because the floors "will mess up his white socks" even after he personally cleans them since he feels like my floors are always dirty in the cracks.

Installation - The floors have cork padding which isn't common, I've heard. Make sure your installer glues the tiles down and levels the foundation well. Otherwise, you will end up like me and have hollow spots everywhere. The planks don't seem heavy enough and are too long to weigh themselves down to avoid the hollow areas. So when we walk around, you can hear the floors popping and making noise as you step down onto it.

Scratch resistant - Not at all.. and the scratches are very noticable. This may be due to the pattern perhaps.

My suggestion would be to get Cali pro vinyl longboards. They are a much cheaper option and have similar styles and colors, but the board are just a couple of inches smaller. My neighbor has Cali Pro longboard LVP. She paid half the price I did and hers have held up much better than my floors even with 2 large dogs and 3 children under 5 years old.

Moral of the story for me, spending more money doesn't mean you are getting a better product. I spent a really long time looking for the perfect floors just to be disappointed.

  • last year

Please share updates after you installed your flooring.

I appreciate all of the comments - it’s challenging to select a brand I don’t have experience with. The flooring LVP I installed previously was discontinued, so I’m looking for a contemporary white oak look in another brand.

We have Trucor linear oatmeal in our home. The flooring has discolored and does not wear very well. It was installed 3 years ago and it has take. 2 years and a lawsuit to get this company to stand behind their product. We have been extremely disappointed in the company and their product.

  • last year

I had terrible luck with Trucor, but the installer installed the 12 mil protective layer coating by mistake possibly. Trucor blamed the scratches and smudges of the flooring on my cleaning. I could scratch the flooring with my nail, rub it with a paper towel and the scratch would disappear and then scratch it again. I would have to clean it everyday. Trucor rep never came to see the floor. I had to hire a flooring expert who sent sample to the specialty lab and found out that the wrong mil thickness of Trucor had been installed and I was given my money back after threatening a lawsuit. I now have Karndean flooring with 30 mil thickness. Night and day difference! You can sweep it and not have to clean at all and looks great all the time. No scratches from dog toenails and I had 4 dogs. The Karndean flooring looks like a real wood floor and so little maintenance. I couldn't be happier.

Terrible flooring. Either Trucor or the installer installed 12 mil layer thickness instead of the 20 mil thickness. Dog toenails scratched it. Could clean it everyday and full of smudges, never looked clean. Trucor blamed me, never came to see the flooring. I hired a flooring expert who had my floor tested to find out I had 12 mil thickness. With threat of lawsuit, I was able to avoid paying for the floor and was able to replace with a 30 mil Karndean floor which is beautiful, no scratching, no smudges.

I bought Trucor IGT tile and it was horrible to install. i called the company to ask why i am having such trouble and ask for help. They said i have to do a skim coat that it is not like plank flooring. They also went on to ask how many floors have I installed and told me to hire someone. The guy had a terrible attitude and told me I had to file a claim and they would send someone out. I’m not new to construction and have renovated my entire basement that i completely gutted!

I have leveled the floor with mapei leveling compound. it is level and smooth in all directions. It is definitely not the floor.

When I start clicking the tiles together it works on row one and row two. Then on the third row as I'm laying the tiles in the corners pop out on various first row tiles and i cannot get the tiles to lock in correctly on the third row.. Everything is square and level! How hard can it be??

It is the most frustrating tile i have ever tried to install. The instructions say lay left to right and toe in on the 18” side and tap with mallet to get it to slide in on the 24” side. Nope that does not work because the corners have this block at the corner that locks in the pieces and will not let the tile slide in like plank. If the corners pop out then you get chipping along the fake grout line. If I lay the tiles right to left they fall into the groves and lock in perfectly. but then i have row three problems.

I wish TruCor customer service was more helpful and didn’t talk down to me installing them myself. I do not understand why they cannot create a video walking you through the instal! I do not understand why they cannot help/give some sort of guidance.

I am going to try and return what I can and find a different product. Unfortunately I will never buy TruCor products again even though I absolutley loved the look of the tile I purchased

picture is the corner locking joint.

Has anyone looked at the samples for Trucor Chantilly Oak 9" PVC? We loved the samples. Now that we are installng, we don't love it. It has a very distressed look, splotching, bootprint looking digressions. It would probably look great in a farmhouse look, but that is not what we are going for.

If anyone has any experience with Trucor Chantilly Oak, please let me know how you feel about the samples looking like a match for the real flooring once laid down.

    Thank you!

I'm considering TruCore English Oak, has anyone installed this color? I love the color...and it says 22mil wear layer but after seeing the problems here, I am hesitant to move forward with this...

We used it to replace carpet in living room that transitions to Brazilian Cherry hardwood..

we love it….better for allergies & pets

How is this floor holding up? What type of flooring is under it?

TRUCORPRIMEXXL 10X84 is what we went with. Paid about $10/sq ft for it. Professionally installed. Installer noticed cracking noise when walking on it. Took it all up, poured leveling compound, put back down and still cracks all over, like a crack and pop. Horrible experience, rep isn’t calling. Don’t recommend. Save yourself a giant headache!! And a bunch of money!

Interesting reading these comments. We just had trucore prime beveled edge in carrara taupe II (tile look not wood) professionally installed. I don't know whether the installation or the product is the problem but the tiles don't seem to fit close enough and I don't see a "grout line" that is supposed to be present. I think the width and depth of space between the tiles is too large and dirt will be caught in-between. This same complaint was mentioned by poster Yesse last year. I have called and emailed the sales person but he hasn't replied to my last 2 emails. I also sent a question to Trucor about the appearance and the lines didn't look like the picture on the website. Their reply was that those pictures are computer generated and that I should look at the samples at the store. Right! The samples at the store are attached to a large board.

I'm keeping copies of my emails for documentation and haven't paid the balance yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed we have some resolution of this issue.

I had LVT TrucorTruCor Emperador Ghost installed proffessionally. It makes cracking noise, they are many cracks in what looks like grout areas. It is the interlocking floor. The flooring company installers agree there is a diffinate problem. Trucor sent out an inspector. He had cones all over my kitchen, utility room & bathroom. The claim was denied. They said a door stop that was placed in the floor is the cause of their deny. The door stop is not in my kitchen, it is in my the backdoor entry. They also said my baseboards were too tight to the floor. The inspevtor also wanted to kniw hiw many people lived in my home, any kids, grandvh grandchildren or pets. Is that not unbeliveble. I disappointed him when we told him only us & we have a 50 year old daughter that visits. I’m surprised they didn’t want to know how much we all weighed, but they cant use that as an excuse either, another disappointment for there so called excuses. They will cover to replace the floor, but not labor. The floor store I purchased from will cover the labor to replace, but there will be an additional expensive to remove & hull at our expensive, unless we want to do it ourselves, which is still at our exp to dispose.

Plus Trucor will only abide by these terms if we purchase their product again. Why would I want their product again when they can’t stand behind their customers or product. They know tere is an interlocking problem, but they deny that is the cause.

    I would never purchase TruCor

I am the person who posted 2 months ago. My salesperson came out & inspected the floor. He thought it was ok & that the seal between the pieces is watertight. I have the same complaint about the pieces looking like they don't fit close enough together & that the spaces are too far apart & too deep. I don't think I should feel the space as I walk about in bare feet (the tile is in the bathrooms). At first, there weren't any areas that squeeked but now rhere is an area next to the bathtub that squeeks when walked on & floor next to the tub moves enough to expose a small area between the floor & the grout. The installers had finished an area there that was open after a new tub was installed. I thought maybe the change was due to the change in the weather since it was cold at the time of the install. I had already checked the installation instructions before the install & TruCore said the LVT didn't need time to acclimate before it was installed. I guess the story continues. I would pick another company if I had a do over.

We had our floor discolor and also not lock correctly we finally filed a lawsuit and were able to get everything covered. It took over 2 years. Dixie group needs to be held accountable for such a bad product!!

I would at least hire an attorney and “threaten them and have all costs lined out and itemized.

Could be the worse flooring out there. Good luck. Kardean flooring will not disappoint. Replaced the Trucor with Kardean

Cheap flooring, always looks dirty, your fingernails will scratch it. Get rid of it. Kardean flooring the best and worth it.
