Jackie and I played Pied Piper on our walk this afternoon. The two calico kitties didn't want to pose.

And for the first time in a while, I won the LRC game.

I can't believe how many quilts you ladies sew at retreat. Do you have all the pieces cut before you get there? Beautiful quilts all.

It helps to stay up all night. Some pieces are cut, some blocks just need putting together, some are started from scratch. You never can tell.

I have the gift of sleep, so not sure how I would do at retreat. LOL I had made some crumb blocks for fun, but wasn't sure what to do with them. A baby quilt sounds perfect.

We would allow you to sleep whenever you want.

Bev2009, You sleep whenever you want to.....just like I do. Yesterday wore me out and I'm taking it easy today. Some sewing but not much.......it's ok. What gets done gets done.

The quilt tops I have put together so far, were made from some of the 440 blocks I made during 2019. I have 5 more sets of quilt tops with me if I get around to it and feel like it.

Gosh, I miss you all!!! You are getting so much done and everything is so beautiful! Sleep is optional!!!

I think it is 1-1/2 hours at 375. (maybe 1 hour 40 minutes ... ) then you need to let it set for about 5 minutes.

Bev2009, I was in a group that the goal was to make 350 blocks a year...basically one a day. I'm continuing this year, too. We'll see how it goes. :-)

Char, I keep meaning to tell you I love the colors in your crazy quilt. Do you know the maker?

I'm sorry I don't remember the pattern name. I put the blocks together over 10 years ago, just finishing the decorative stitches and arranging and sewing blocks together at the retreat. I will tell you that the original pattern was sectioned into 8 pieces. It called for 8 different fabrics so that each block had 1 piece of each of the eight fabrics in a different location on the block. I made 16 blocks, switching up several of the fabrics because I wanted a larger quilt. I remember stacking all 8 fabric squares and cutting through them all simultaneously on the lines to create the pieces for the blocks. You could probably design your own square using the same method. Each finished square measured about 17" x 17". Because the pieces were cut apart without a seam allowance and then seamed together, the blocks had irregular edges and had to be squared up before sewing together. Here's a pic of one block. I want to say I started with 20" squares of each fabric. Several of the fabrics were hand dyed by my girlfriend, others were Joann batiks.

Char - I think it is a STACK AND SLASH pattern. I have made a couple of them, but not done the decorative stitching on them. I like that idea!
