Looks great. But why tan floor and gray cabinets??

How did you get the glow over the range? Can we see a better picture of it? It looks interesting!

We took insp from some pictures where they had natural coloured flooring and grey units and felt at the time that it worked. Saying that, it is one of the things I wish I had done differently. I love the floor and wish we had gone for a cream unit rather than the grey :(

More pics, different angels please!! I would agree cream/white would serve you better for many reasons...what else are you regretting? Seems cramped with that an island? My grandma's old farm house had a metal kitchen table with utensil drawers. It served many purposes and didn't add the WEIGHT of an island to the room.

I also wish we would have chosen inframe style units but so be it. It is our first time doing this scale of renovation so we're bound to make some mistakes, especially on a tight budget!

If you added Roman shades to the windows, you could select fabric that has a grey and cream pattern to tie your room together if the contrast bothers you. I love the size of the island. So many people don’t put function first, but you knew what your family needed.

You could introduce a mid tone wood to tie the flooring and cabinets. The picture above the range could have a wood frame and the wall with the windows has some places for accessories too.

Beautiful kitchen. I like your large island and your island pendant lights, it sounds perfect for you. Awesome job doing most of it yourselves!! Enjoy.

The sink does appear to be set wrong...not horizontal front-to-back nor side-to-side.
A short liquid level device can give you the truth on that issue, but it’s probably not possible to make corrections now.
I don’t care for the combination of gray and beige, but if you bring in a few beige accessories on the counter, you can balance the colors well enough.

remodeling1840 love your idea of the roman shades. I hadn't put any on yet as its private and I wanted to assess the light situation before adding anything. Unfortunately we couldn't make the windows any bigger due to the drainage outside. But you're right I think it would help tie everything together.

rachann61 we originally had oak items but have tested walnut and found that colouring works really well. We now have a walnut dining table up the other end and the beam above the range will be walnut too. I like your idea of accessorizing the window wall and bringing that in there as the current items are just placeholders.

I really like the gray and tan combination. I think brass knobs would really kick it up. I just wonder why the counter didn’t go all the way to the slider and include a trash bin cabinet; opening for dog bowls. It’s a beautiful space!

I find a warm grey can exist with beige. Yours works on my display.

Your kitchen looks amazing. Nearly everyone regrets a thing or two when they have their house remodeled. You did a great job. Your kitchen is also much more functional. :)

I would consider trying a slightly warmer color on the window wall or the ceiling ...a pale shade of the floor color....this will take away the “odd-man-out” feel the floors now have...

Yes that would be a great idea, we just can’t settle on a colour. Any suggestions?

If possible take a piece of tile to a quality paint store...they can usually come up with several options from pale to medium versions of the color...just so the tone matches...

Great job! We chose a similar limestone (in the US) and I love it! It is slip-resistant, and (at least ours) has a ton of movement and fossils embedded in it, so even if something does happen to stain it, it is normally unnoticeable. We sealed ours and it has been pretty maintenance-free, but we have had a few stains that required using hydrogen peroxide and diatomaceous earth. Can't wait to see the beam above the cooker, we were able to get a large slab of walnut that we made into an open shelf in our kitchen and it really warmed the space up.

Just offhand I think you did a great job. As you say renovating yourself especially when you are doing something for the first time you always see things that you would have done differently. I say good job!

ch47gunnergirl it sounds a lot like our floor, the stains just add character 😊 the only trouble is the grout stains which seem to build up very quickly, any tips for that?

We used Stone Pro's Porous Pro sealer on top of the stones and the grout and haven't had much trouble. We have had a few stains (the rest of our house is in remodel too) & where we had laid some boards on the floor and it literally turned the stones purple (I have no clue what caused that) I almost had a heart attack, but the diatomaceous earth paste (from the previously mentioned tips) pulled the stains out of the grout and the stones. I get the peroxide from a beauty supply to get the strength needed, it's cheaper there than from those marketed for using on stones.

I looked at the finished kitchen and it looks and feels soooo English.....I recommend you pick up some Ben Penreath design books from the library to fill in with a few accessories.....I love everything you did and it looks terrific.
