I would do art instead of a clock.

I’ve also thought about a shelf with different pitchers, plates, etc.

What do you collect? Ironstone? Transferware? The kitchen would definitely be an appropriate place to display it. BUT, that chair is awfully close to the wall.

@BeverlyFLADeziner, I wanted to change the light fixture but didn’t realize how much better a dark black or bronze would look. I also love the sample you gave with the oversized piece of art on the wall.

And @BeverlyFLADeziner, how bad is it going to look if we change the light fixture in the kitchen but can’t change the ceiling fan in the connected living room? At least not right away.

I don't see an issue, in fact, I like for fans to blend into the ceiling if the ceilings are only 8ft. -9ft

A new fixture and some art IMO clocks are not decor items unless it is a grandfather one in the hall and in a kitchen you already have clocks.

Perhaps that wall needs a piece of art like you'll see in our dining room designs included below:
