We have used a few of them commercially on Penn Station in NYC. They are not fully in use as of yet but the quality seems to be there and the company has been a pleasure to deal with.

they said the frame of the door is thermally broken but not the aluminum on the panels themselves- I don't know anything about window construction, is that standard or does that mean I will not get good thermal performance? I am in Chicago so if they are going to perform poorly with the cold temps that is a problem

Typically only the frames are thermally broken. I don't know if I have seen thermally broken panels.

so in your opinion it seems like a solid product? it is something like 20% less than my other options

LaCantina is a good door from what I understand. No real experience with them as they have no east coast presence. Panda, my experience was not good, three times. Would have difficulties taking them for free.

These type of doors usually last long and though the price a little bit lower than other but the durability is quite good.

millworkman what went wrong with panda? and were the euro-wall doors installed as exterior doors that you worked with? euro-wall doesn't seem to have any thermal performance testing results available which makes me nervous (they have the info on the glass itself but not on the whole assembly)

No these were interior doors on the Eurowall. Panda had missing parts, things not built correctly, service issues. They were a nightmare to get service on and parts for. Now in fairness they were fairly new to the NY markets and they had no real dealers or reps in the area.

You have any concerns about the euro-wall as an exterior door in Chicago? Also is this normal for warranties on this type of door:

Am I reading this correctly that they basically won't guarantee that my panels won't warp (they are each 116" high by 61" wide) and, if so, is this standard practice or reason for concern?

Basically yes. But I am yet to see an aluminum door panel "warp" These are extruded almost 1/8" pcs of aluminum. As it states it takes intentional abuse, misuse or a car running into a panel to bend it.

I still am liking the doors after 3 years. They are working well. In terms of winter performance...We have a couple of small air gaps where I can see daylight between the doors, so we are definitely losing some air through those gaps. I think this is more likely an issue of who installed them for me rather than the product itself. Also, I've noticed that when its really cold outside and warm inside, we get a lot of condensation inside. That might just be normal though.

Same here - shopping for patio doors in SoCal - NanaWall, milgard, la cantina, Marvin, euro wall. Got quotes from nanawall and fleetwood. I guess nanawall does not do screen doors

We are in the Seattle area and have used your wall three times and have loved it. Good product ... amazing price.

I used them for a open 90 multislide door ... 10 ft x 12 ft rectangle... 4 panels on each side meeting at a corner. Doors are nice except they have a 1/2 in x 1 inch HOLE where the doors meet!!!! I'm in NJ, so I can't have a hole in my door. They don't have a solution to it. Their distributor who installed the doors in NJ, Moderfoldstyles has been worthless in helping to solve the problem. I would not recommend either Eurowalls or Modernfoldstyles. Save yourself the headache.

Something is missing then in the way of a weatherstrip, astragal or some piece. Post up pics and we may be able to offer some help.
