What are you using the space for?

What is your climate and is the garage space heated/cooled?

1 bay for my car and 2 bays for my workshop. We live 60 miles north of NYC - it gets cold and hot. I have my furnace and a 50k BTU unit heater in the space but turn the heat off when I'm not working in the workshop

IMO an epoxy finish would be a much better choice in a space where tools can drop , cars drive and no heat often.

Thank you - I agree. I received a price for the Epoxy but I like the wood look better and smoothness of Vinyl plank. Just concerned about car wheel loading.

You cannot park cars on top of vinyl flooring and expect it to last. It also does not like temperature swings or being directly on a slab. You still would need a vapor barrier and the floor needs to be flat to within an 1/8" over 10 ft.

And for fun, vinyl has a chemical reaction to car tires. Both are petroleum based products = tires will stain the vinyl orange/brown. Not to mention the oils/liquids from the car itself. I know brake fluid is HIGHLY corrosive = vinyl doesn't stand a chance.

You are better off with a HIGH GRIT epoxy finish. Don't spend money on a vinyl floor that will 'die' inside of two seasonal changes. Besides...there is NOTHING like slipping in a pool of oil over a slick surface like interior vinyl....that's a head injury waiting to happen. And god love you if you knock yourself out in a pool of brake fluid (3rd degree chemical burns over the part of you that lands in it!).

Best go with what the industry uses = Epoxy with grit additive. It will do everything you want and nothing that you don't want.
