The patches of stain we tried on the ceiling really soaked in and darkened the wood, even the transparent stain. But we‘re hesitant to do a layer of Kilz then gray exterior paint up there.

We plan to keep the walls a natural Wood stain with a hint of color and do gray outdoor carpet from HD.
