complements BM Owl Gray with a small space, lighter rather than anything dark.

You have to take into consideration the ambient day/natural light that is already bouncing off the hallway walls. Currently it has a reddish tinge. Using something bright white or with a cooler hue can balance the natural light hitting the walls.

You can also paint it dark navy blue with gold accents. Keep clutter minimum and it will look fine even with bright white.
