Oh wow, Lois! You are so brave. I can't even keep track of what strip goes next using the traditional block. I started a scrappy one using 2" strips at retreat (browns/neutral with blue thrown in here and there) and have 11 blocks completed. I did have to do a lot of thinking and a little ripping to get this first block finished. The instructions seemed unnecessarily complicated to me. This pattern calls for all the strips to be cut to the proper length before you piece, which I like. I can never get the blocks square using the method where you sew with WOF strips and then cut. I think I'm going to chain piece the other 11 so that I can get the colors distributed evenly. I don't want to end up with all the same fabrics for the last couple blocks. I do love making log cabin blocks. I hope this inspires some of you to join in the fun.

Another beautiful block/quilt, Lois! Good idea on distributing the colors. I have wanted to try a Log Cabin with different size strips ... maybe someday!

Somewhere I read to use something like a silverware divider for same size strips to keep them in order. Sounded like a good Idea but don't know if it would work in real life.
