Thank you, S SDG. Any hints on how to pick a coordinating countertop for other kitchen countertops if I use this granite only on the island? We previously liked Emser's LaVie White Mosaic for the backsplash. Do you think that is simple enough?

I would wait to choose the backsplash when everything else is installed. We have all learned that once our stone is laid horizontally, in our homes, it looks very different than it did in the stone yard. Your backsplash choice above is too busy for the countertop your husband loves. It is the type of stone that has to be “the star” of the room. If you want to limit it to the island, then tell us what you thought you might like for the rest of the room (more granite? Soapstone? Corian? Quartz?). Your backsplash has to complement two countertop looks, which is another reason to wait.

Thanks, RedRyder. You've stated my exact concern with the possibility of using this granite only on the island - how the heck do I pick a coordinating option for the other counters? We like granite from the aspect of the natural look and it can take a hot pan without issue. I've never mixed granite colors in prior home kitchen remodels, so stumped on that. I'm assuming it will need to be something with less "movement" like these.

Use the same granite everywhere. Too many ways to go wrong mixing and matching. The granite you have pictured looks nice.

Yeah. Let me change my response. Use the same granite everywhere in the kitchen, not just the island. But using it in other rooms seems off.
