Lighting Design Dilemma Entry

Front sconces and columns

We are looking to make a few updates, which include new lighting/sconces at the entryway and possibly squaring off the columns at the front of our home. Would love feedback re: the best style of sconce to update a more traditional home and thoughts on squaring off columns. Thanks in advance!

Is the look you modern farmhouse ? IMO first remove all the shutters none of them are the right size and the front door is to me modern farmhouse so choose a more modern light fixture with LED bulb instead of Edison . As for the posts I think wrapping them in wood to match the door would be good Some more modern planters square in black and some color for the cushions on the porch and if you want a bit more modern a new walkway and porch floor in slate.

I agree about the shutters and squaring off the columns with wood or brick to match the house would look great. I also recommend lining that beautiful walkway with additional landscaping on both sides. Sounds like a project for Scottie!

I am not a fan of exposed bulbs at the front door right in your eye, and also if you ever need actual light these wont do it. I chose one that had a cylinder over the bulb just for that reason. Celery is amazing, im just giving my 2 cents.
