Hello. Is is strange to mix these throughout the home?

For example, if a dining room has wainscoting, can the adjacent living room have shadow boxes?

Also, if that is ok. Do the heights have to match? If I wanted a high chair rail height for a dining room but a lower height for a living room would that make it look strange? Thanks.
